About

For the past 6 years, I’ve supported  my family through some very unconventional means.

Everyday, I go to war.

I go to war with people from all over the world, and I take their money in a card game of skill.

I also go to war with myself and with my mind.

Battling through the ups and downs of every day, and often struggling with issues of confidence.

During this journey, I’ve learned more about myself and my mind than I could ever have imagined.

I have learned so much, and have become so much more happy as a result, that I feel the need to share it with the world.

This is my soapbox.

  2. Thank you – i received one “like” from a WordPress blagger called Oscar Hokeah – this “like” appeared within 5 seconds of me putting up the blag – methinks some have an automated system to do this in the expectation that others will “follow” them – I politely commented on his “About” concerning the fact that he had “liked” my blag within the 5 seconds and couldn’t possibly have read my gibberish – I checked later, he had removed my comment – beware of the blagger collector virus!!

    And thank you again.

  3. Hi there. Thanks for liking my life celebrations post. Your blog looks interesting. May I mention that as an older reader I find your font quite difficult to read. It’s not the font so much as the size, and it doesn’t seem to zoom in very easily on my tablet. Still, nice looking blog. Cheers.

    • Hi Margie and thanks for the kind words. I looked into it, but wasn’t able to find a way to change the font size without paying for an upgrade. It’s the default font for the wordpress theme I use. I hope it doesn’t keep you from coming back.

  4. Every day for me is a war against and with the pain in my body and finding ways to use my mind to control it, suppress it, be so immersed in other activities that I am not aware of it, whatever you may call it since painkillers do not work on it any more. Being in a state of war every day does make you know yourself in ways you would never have thought possible otherwise, being pushed to your limits so often that they have to be stretched or you would not still exist. Perhaps I don’t understand what your war is like but I felt a kinship with your struggle. I wish you well.

    • Sounds like you are going through a tough time, and I wish you the strength to keep on fighting through it. Hopefully we can inspire one another. Best of luck.

  5. Thank you for liking my The Sign post. You have a lot of good reads here that also resonate the war with myself and my mind at this point in time. I will take my time in reading your posts and find it for myself those thoughtful pieces that may spark changes or motivation as I face my own war.

  6. Hello there,
so you are the first blogger who has the balloon theme ( I even have it, so cheers! )
You seem to be a beautiful person on the inside.
    Stay Beautiful.
    Keep that smile forever.
And if you ever think that you’re the only who’s taking part in the war,
let me confess I got for these wars too. 🙂

  7. Thanks so much for “liking” my post ‘Losing Children, Resting in Hope’. I had time to just scan your front page and liked how you write; I’ll be back to spend more time actually reading.

  8. Thank you for liking my post. Your blog is very interesting. While not my Forte, I do believe your advice helps many. Keep it up.

    • Oh not at all, I’ve just been really occupied with some new challenges in my life.

Check out my Facebook page or Twitter feed. I do update those more frequently, although it is admittedly a much different format.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and words!
